'I'm Fine' was shot on 16mm film, and all the mothers and daughter's featured are real relationships rather than being actors. Each girl's song was co-written by them and performed by them based on their own life experiences and issues with self-esteem, but also how they want to focus on their talents and hobbies.

The mixture of real life and animation is supposed to depict the experience of being inside someone's head.
